Avonmouth 1901

This map covers the port of Avonmouth, opened in 1877, and is a valuable addition to our group of maps for the Bristol area. The map shows Avonmouth Dock in detail, including railway sidings, locks, even mooring posts. Other features include St Andrew's church, Dock station, Marine Hotel, Swash Channel, Dunball Island, isolation hospital, Pier station, lighthouse, cattle lairs, and the group of streets nearby. On the reverse we include a directory of Avonmouth in 1904, plus railway timetables for the Pilning-Avonmouth line in 1929 and Clifton-Avonmouth line 1906.


Brislington 1902

This detailed map covers most of the village of Brislington, to the SE of Bristol. Coverage stretches from Montrose Avenue and Bristol Hill eastward to the River Avon and The Batch. Features include tramway, Brislington House, Winash House, Emery's Farm, Doncaster Farm, Hicks Gate Farm, Flowers Hill Farm, Brislington Hall, Oakenhill Farm, St Luke's church, Assembly Rooms, Brislington Hill House, short stretch of GWR railway etc. On the reverse we include directories of Brislington and Hanham in 1894.
The map links up with sheet 76.02 St Annes Park to the north and 76.05 Knowle to the west.

This detailed map is one of a pair of maps for Cirencester. It covers the eastern half of the town, with coverage stretching from the east end of Market Place eastward to Kingshill Lane and beyond. Partb of Preston village, including All Saints church, is in the SE corner. A major aspect of the map is the Watermoor area, where features include the Midland & South Western Junction Railway with station and engine house. Other features include Trinity church, Watermoor House, Poor Law Institution, Royal Nursery, Dyer Street, Victoria Road, Watermoor Road, Tower Street, The Avenue, Lewis Lane, The Beeches, Golden Farm, isolation hospital, Preston Forty. On the reverse we include extracts from an 1894 directory, including Commercial entries J-Z. On the reverse we include a commercial directory from 1894, entries A-I and a 1906 timetable for the GWR's Cirencester Branch.

It covers the western half of the town, coverage running from the Market Place and St John's church westward to Cirencester Park and College Farm; and from Coxwell Street and The Abbey southward to Cranhams Farm and Chesterton. Features include Castle Street, Park Street, GWR terminus, Bull Ring (Roman Amphitheatre), cattle market, Ashcroft Road, Cricklade Street, Cirencester Park, cemetery, Cotswold bacon factory, Royal Agricultural College. The fine detail includes individual houses, clearly delineated. On the reverse we include a commercial directory from 1894, entries A-I and a 1906 timetable for the GWR's Cirencester Branch.

Features include Brislington station, Queen's Dale Farm, Firfield House, Racecourse Cottages, St Martin's church, House of Charity, Lower Knowle, Bear's Bridge, Kingshill House, western edge of Brislington. On the reverse we include a street directory for Wells Road, plus railway timetables for the Bristol-Radstock-Frome line in 1906 and 1929.
