This new working chart has been long in the making. We have spent considerable time getting this idea just right for customers who wish to write up their family tree by hand.

It will be especially useful where there is a desire to show siblings and their descendants on the chart as there are no predetermined family structures thus allowing you to add any number of siblings to a family. Works best for 'descendant' or 'all-relatives' charts.

There are 22 boxes per metre on each row of the chart. When considering the length of chart required you will need to think about the numbers of children in each generation that you wish to record. We also advise leaving at least one box space between families to make the chrat easier to follow. Each box is 38 x 30mm.

Comes supplied with mini sticky notes to help you plan your chart. Contains space for 10 generations.

Printed Chart from Your Gedcom file

We will print a chart with a full line up of individuals like your chosen chart type and style on a high quality paper and send it to you in a strong cardboard tube. Don't worry if your chart isn't complete as our system will just leave out any missing data or individuals.

A Gedcom file is a universal file format for sharing genealogy files, you can recognize a Gedcom file by its extension .ged. You can download your Gedcom file from many online sites that you are using such as Ancestry, Find my Past, Genes Reunited, The Genealogist, My Heritage etc. Also you can export your gedcom file from any Genealogy Programs like Family Tree Maker, Family Historian, Family Tree Builder, Reunion, Roots Magic & Genbox etc.

All you need to do is send an email with your gedcom file by email to charts@my-history.co.uk, along with the persons name that the chart starts from and we will do the rest. See below

Chart Types

Ancestor Chart Root person at the bottom, Ancestors going up the page.	Descendant Chart Root person at the top, Descendants going down the page.
Hourglass Chart Root person at the centre, Ancestors going up the page, Descendants going down the page. Each individual box will display name, birth, marriage and death details.

When choosing an hourglass chart, we will count from the root person generations of descendants first, then ancestors, the root person is included as a generation. For example a 10 generation hourglass chart in which the root has 3 generations of descendants will have 6 generations of ancestors displayed.

We can even print onto a wide canvas and stretch it around a frame ready for you to hang on the wall. Depending on the size.

80 gram - Typical photocopy paper

120 gram - Half as thick again as 80 gram paper. A good quality chart paper.

170 gram - a heavy duty paper over twice the weight and thickness of photocopy paper.

Canvas - This is very much like an artists canvas for oil paints but it is made from synthetic materials. Very tough and not easily creased. Can be written on with an ordinary or acid-free pen.

This is a rare directory that we have been able to purchase, scan and supply on CD for use by family historians. It has not been made available on CD before. It contains a wealth of information about Hampshire, The Isle of Wight and the people who lived and worked there in 1867. As well as having a comprehensive directory of everyone in trade in 1867 this CD also contains a description of over 350 villages and towns in Hampshire. All principal places are covered. The CD also lists the 'Hundreds' of Hampshire and a list of magistrates. The trade section covers every trade imaginable including; Accountants, Artists, Beer retailers, Grocers and Tripe Dressers through to Woolstaplers etc.

The CD has been fully indexed to an accuracy of around 97% so that you may search for names using the 'Find' utility in such programs as Adobe Reader. Better still once you have a page on screen you may read or print out the original printed information produced over 140 years ago.

Seven Generation Pedigree Chart

This seven generation pedigree chart will allow you to write in up to 127 individual names including marriage details and there will still be space for you to include other facts that you have about your ancestors. Both the papers we use to print this chart are acid-free.

The 'parchment' paper we use to print this chart has a very nice feel to it and the colour is very similar to original parchment. Furthermore the 'parchment' paper is manufactured to ISO 9706 which means that it must have an alkaline reserve sometimes known as a calcium carbonate buffer thus ensuring thst it is able to withstand a certain amount external polution.

The chart is available printed on:
* standard 90 gsm white paper
* 90 gsm Parchment paper

90 gsm paper is slightly thicker than normal copier paper which is usually around 80 gsm
