The Rural Directory covers: Ayr (Landward), Coylton, Dalrymple, Kirkmichael, Kirkoswald, Mauchline, Maybole, Monkton, Ochiltree, Stair, Straiton, Symington and Tarbolton.

Some of the scanned pages appear not to be straight. This is a feature of the original book rather than the scanning process. Some pages appear to be clipped. This is a result of having to angle them to compensate for skewed print.
