(Supplied on a CD) The size of the directory means that it is published as a two CD set. The first CD contains Indexes; The Norwich section of the main directory; Private Residents Directory; Trades & Professional Directory and Advertisements. The second CD contains the balance of the main directory of towns and villages.
The CDs contain over 900 pages covering the whole of the county of Norfolk in 1922. When we obtained the directory, the county map had suffered a major tear and significant creasing. The map is also slightly too large to scan in a single piece on an A3 scanner (whilst the majority of the county can be scanned in one, some detail at the edges of the map are cut off). In addition to scanning as much as possible of the map as a whole, therefore, it has also been scanned as overlapping tiles which have subsequently been stitched together (though a little imprefectly because of the creasing). All three scans plus the stitched version of the map have been included on both CDs.
Some of the scanned images appear not to be straight. This is a feature of the original book rather than the scanning process.
