Bacon’s Large Scale Plan of Birmingham Circa 1900

Bacon’s Large Scale Plan of Birmingham Circa 1900

Ref: WAR1900MAP

(Supplied on a CD) The original map bears no date but is estimated to be about 1900 because it includes wards added to the city in the boundary extension of 1891 but shows St Philip's as a church rather than a cathedral (which it became in 1905). It covers the area from Smethwick and Harborne in the west to Washwood Heath and Little Bromwich in the east and from Heathfield Hall in the north to Cannon Hill Park in the south. In addition to the map the CD contains a complete street index as included in the original publication.

Unfortunatly this item is discontinued as a CD. There are more maps available via download from our other website TWR: Please click here to get the download from our other website. SAVE TIME, POSTAGE & MONEY!!

Customer Reviews

8/10  Well worth the price for local history studies.  Well worth the price. But the map is a little earlier than 1900, as it does not show St Patrick's Church, opened in 1896. This should be next to the School marked in the block between Belgrave Street, Hick Street, Highgate Street and Frank Street (unlabelled).  (20/02/2019) Chris Smith, Churchwarden - St Alban's, Highgate
